Bronze Sculpture Rattanakosin Thai Buddha
Gilt bronze sculpture depicting Buddhah. Thailand, late 1600s. In Bhumisparsha mudra (posture), seated on a multi-layered base is one of the rarest for its symbolism. The sculpture is in good condition but in the part that represents the human figure has lost the golden part. Great and superb manufacture in its bronze with elegant details.
The bronze sculpture has light defects and abrasions due to age and use. In the back part of the sculpture there are some hooks always realized in the same sculpture in bronze that serve as support for a hypothetical fixing to the wall.
The bronze sculpture is ideal as ornamental object to place above a closet or an entrance.
