Liisi Beckmann Karelia Bouclè Purple Armchairs
Karelia armchair design by Liisi Beckmann for Zanotta with structure in polyurethane foam. The pair of armchairs has been reupholstered with a removable cover in soft p velvet.
Karelia, designed in 1966 by the Finnish designer Liisi Beckmann. It represents a 1960s pop culture classic and is also a very comfortable seat.
The Karelia seat by Liisi Beckmann, is part of that series of innovative objects, from a typological-morphological point of view. The objects of that period represented the future, alluding to play, transformable, creating a strong relationship with man and sometimes inspired by the art world. The pair of armchairs, given their eccentricity, are ideal for pop environments or to create a complete detachment from formal environments to give a touch of absolute modernity.
It is on display at the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein.
